Technical characteristics of Renault Grand Scénic III (JZ0/1)
Grand Scénic III (JZ0/1) minivans were 4560 mm long, 1845 mm wide, 1645 mm high. Depending on a trim level, the interior could have 5 or 7 seats. Thus, the luggage compartment capacity varied between 564 and 2050 litres. Road clearance was 120 mm.
The front suspension was independent, the rear – semi-independent, of a twist-beam type. Construction and adjustment of the chassis ensured excellent steerability and manoeuvrability and also increased the stability of the vehicle during cornering. Brake discs were installed on both axles of the vehicle.
Main versions
A total of 29 versions of Grand Scénic III were produced over time: 14 petrol and 15 diesel versions. All of them were front-wheel-drive.
The 2.0 16V version had rather a good performance. It was powered by a 4-cylinder 16-valve 140 hp engine. It reached max torque of 190 N·m at 3750 rpm. The car accelerated to 100 km/h in 10.8 seconds and its top speed reached 190 km/h. Fuel consumption was 6.5 litres of petrol in the extra-urban cycle, 8.1 litres – in the combined cycle, 10.9 – in the urban cycle. The loading capacity of this version was 660 kg.
This car had a continuously variable transmission. It operated very smoothly and easily, reduced fuel consumption and allowed using the engine power with maximum efficiency.
Trim levels of Grand Scénic III (JZ0/1)
Grand Scénic III (JZ0/1) minivans were available in 5 main trim levels: Authentique, Expression, Dynamique, Privilège and Jade.
Cars with the Jade trim level had a leather-trimmed interior. The seats were heated and provided the most comfortable seating position. Panoramic glass roof visually made the cabin even more spacious. Innovative equipment included Carminat TomTom navigation system and a rearview camera which made parking easier.
