Technical specifications of Peugeot Partner (5)
The van was 4,110 mm long, 1,720 mm wide and 1,800 mm high. The volume of the cargo compartment reached 3 m3. The road clearance was 140 mm. The body had 4 -or 5 doors. The rear door was of a hinged type.
The cargo compartment and the cabin were separated with a mesh. A special curtain was used to hide the cargo from prying eyes. The cabin was equipped with many storage compartments, pockets and containers for small objects.
Both suspensions were independent. They ensured a well-balanced combination of steerability and comfort. Ventilated brake discs were installed on the front axle, drums – on the rear one.
Main versions
About 20 versions of Peugeot Partner (1996–2015) vans have been produced over the manufacturing time. Most of them were diesel, but there were also petrol, dual-fuel and electric ones. Generally, the cars were front-wheel driven, but all-wheel driven ones were also produced.
The 2.0 HDi diesel version was one of the most popular. It was equipped with a 90 hp engine with a turbocharger and the Common Rail fuel injection system. The maximum torque of the motor was 205 Nm and it was reached at 1,900 rpm.
The version was not characterized by high dynamics. It took the car 15.6 seconds to accelerate to 100 km/h, and the maximum speed didn’t exceed 160 km/h. But the driver could save on fuel: for travelling 100 km the car consumed only 5 litres in urban cycle, 5.8 litres – in combined cycle, and 7.3 litres – in urban cycle. The loading capacity was 800 kg.
Trim levels of Partner (5)
Partner (5) vans had a rich equipment list for their class. They could be equipped with front airbags (and with side ones for an extra charge), seat belts with pretensioners, third brake light, fuel cut-off system which is activated in case of a road accident, cruise control, and air conditioner. The hydraulic power steering was of an adaptive type. The windscreen wipers operation modes were automatically switched depending on the car speed. The seats ensured comfortable position, and the driver didn’t get tired even in long trips. The audio system had its own display which also showed the mileage before service and motor oil level.
