Kia Soul I (AM) technical specifications
The initial length of the body was 4,105, the width was 1,785, and the height was 1,610 mm. The luggage compartment volume varied from 340 to 1,258 litres depending on the position of the rear seats. The payload capacity of the vehicle reached 450 kg. The ride height was 164 mm.
After restyling, the length of the vehicle increased up to 4,120 mm. The luggage compartment volume decreased up to 818 litres. Other parameters remained the same.
The front suspension was independent, of MacPherson type, while the rear one was semi-independent. The front axle was equipped with ventilated brake discs, the rear one – with non-ventilated ones.
Main versions
There were about 10 versions of Kia Soul I vehicles (AM). There were petrol, diesel and hybrid models among them. The latter could run both on petrol or liquefied petroleum gas. All of them had front-wheel drive.
One of the most powerful versions was the petrol 2.0 МТ. It was equipped with a 4-cylinder, 16-valve straight engine with multipoint fuel injection. The output was 164 hp, the maximum torque was 201 Nm at 4,800 rpm. The maximum speed of the vehicle reached 190 kph. The car accelerated from 0 to 100 kph in 10.2 seconds. The fuel consumption of the vehicle per 100 km was 6.9 litres in the combined cycle.
Soul I (AM) trim levels
Apart from the base trim, the manufacturer offered several extended ones: 2, Burner, Samba, Tempest, Hunter, Echo, Searcher, Shaker, Inferno, Quantum, Comfort, Luxe, Diva. Kia Soul I (AM; 2008–2014) crossovers had factory-installed air conditioning, power windows, audio system with a CD player, electronic stability programme (ESP), six airbags and a central locking system.
The extended trim Quantum included cruise control, black 18-inch light alloy wheel rims, self-levelling headlights, LED daytime running lights, parking sensors. They also had heated side mirrors and tinted windows. The interior was trimmed with leather.
