The Jeep Wrangler III (JK) is a three-door and five-door SUV which was produced from 2006 to 2018. The five-door version had five seats and the three-door version had four. The three-door model was introduced at the 2006 North American International Auto Show in Detroit and the five-door vehicle debuted a year later at the New York International Auto Show. The Jeep Wrangler III SUVs (the JK): specifications
The body of the three-door version had the following dimensions: length 4223 mm, width 1873 mm, height 1825 mm and ride height 267 mm. The boot capacity varied from 142 to 430 litres.
The length of the five-door SUV was 4751 mm, the width 1877 mm. The height and ground clearance were the same as on the three-door model. The boot capacity ranged from 498 to 934 litres.
This vehicle had a body-on-frame construction and a fold-flat windscreen. The doors could be removed. The front axle was equipped with ventilated brake discs, the rear with solid ones. The front and rear suspensions were dependent.
Main versions
The manufacturer introduced nearly 10 versions. There were both petrol and diesel ones. All Jeep Wrangler III (the JK) SUVs had on-demand AWD: Command-Trac or Rock-Trac.
The most powerful was a 3.6 AT version with a 24-valve V petrol engine with a GDI system and turbocharger. It had a 286 hp engine; its maximum torque was 374 N·m at 4300 rpm. The fuel consumption of the vehicle was 14.9 litres per 100 km in the urban cycle, 8.2 litres in the extra-urban cycle and 10.7 litres in the combined cycle. Acceleration was 0 to 100 km/h in 8.9 seconds. The maximum speed was 180 km/h.

There were a great number of trims available, such as Sahara, Ultimate, Sport, 70h Anniversary, Rubicon, Rubicon Recon, Night Eagle, Overland, Black Edition, Polar and X Edition. Jeep Wrangler III (JK) SUVs had ABS, a car alarm, front fog lights, front airbags and traction control as standard.
The extended trim Sahara included rear fog lights, a multifunction steering wheel, a light sensor and halogen headlights. Safety was ensured by an electronic stability programme (ESP), downhill assist control (DAC), hill assist control (HAC), a tyre pressure monitor and cruise control. An onboard computer, sat nav, side airbags and heated front seats trimmed with leather were available as options.
