The length of the Santa Fe III (DM) crossover was 4,690–4,905 mm, the width – 1,880 mm, the height – 1,580-1,690 mm. The luggage compartment volume was impressive: with the rear seats folded, it could reach 1,680 litres in the 5-seat car, and 1,842 litres in the 7-seat car. The road clearance was 185 mm. The manufacturer presented more than 20 versions of the Hyundai Santa Fe (2012–2018). They included both diesel and petrol ones. The cars could be equipped with a front-wheel drive, all-wheel drive, and part-time all-wheel drive.

The 2.2 CRDi AT 4WD was the most popular diesel version. This car could accelerate to 100 km/h in 10.1 seconds. The maximum speed was 190 km/h. Trim levels of Santa Fe III (DM)

Different trim levels were offered: Base, Comfort, Dynamic, Family and others. In the cheapest trim level, Base, the cars were equipped with a stereo system with CD- and MP3-player, USB port, 6 speakers. More expensive equipment versions included a multimedia system with a touchscreen and GPS navigator, and the interior was trimmed with leather and wood.

The Family trim level included a dual-zone climate control with air ionization function, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, heated seats. Moreover, these vehicles were equipped with ABS, ASC, electronic brake force distribution, hill start and descent assist, VSA function responsible for car body position stabilization. Parking sensors and a rearview camera facilitated parking. The headlights had a cornering function, which increased safety level when maneuvering at night.
