Its 90 hp 200 Nm engine was equipped with the Common Rail direct fuel injection system, turbocharger and intercooler; and was characterized by high efficiency. The car could accelerate to 100 km/h in 11.9 seconds. Its maximum speed was 175 km/h, while fuel consumption was rather low: 3.9 litres of fuel were only required in extra-urban cycle, 4.6 litres - in combined cycle, 5.9 - in urban cycle. The loading capacity of this version was 585 kg.

Various trim levels were offered for Fiat Grande Punto 199 hatchbacks: Go, Active, Dynamic, Linea Sportiva Speed, Linea Sportiva Racing, Linea Sportiva Sport, Emotion, Sport Life, Fun and others.

The car in Emotion trim level was equipped with power windows, 6 airbags, vehicle stability control system with brake assist and hill holder functions, and a car audio system with a CD-player and 6 speakers. Offered optionally were: the Blue&Me multimedia system with Bluetooth support, voice control and the possibility to connect an MP3-player.
