The length of the van with a short wheelbase was 4,158 mm or 4,253 mm, with a long wheelbase ― 4,633 mm. The height of the cars could be 1,818 mm or 2,053 mm depending on the version you choose. The width could be 1,715 mm or 1,722 mm. The cargo compartment volume of long-wheelbase vans could be 4 m3. The road clearance was 160 mm or 180 mm.

About 20 versions of Fiat Doblo 223 (2000‒2017) have been produced over the manufacturing period. Most of them were diesel, but there were also petrol and LPG versions. They were front-wheel driven. For the vans, only a 5-speed manual transmission was offered.
The 1.4 FIRE 8V petrol version had well-balanced characteristics. Its 4-cylinder 8-valve engine was characterized by 115 Nm torque and could develop 77 hp. The car accelerated to 100 km/h in 17 seconds. Its maximum speed didn’t exceed 148 km/h. The loading capacity was 730 kg. Fuel consumption was moderate. For covering a 100 km distance the car needed 6.3 litres of petrol in extra-urban cycle, 7.4 litres in combined cycle, 9.2 litres in urban cycle.
Doblo I 223 trim levels
The basic trim level of Doblo I 223 vans had a modest equipment list. Seatbelts with pretensioners, halogen headlights, hydraulic power steering, tilt adjustable steering column were installed at the factory. The interior had a textile upholstery. Power windows, heated power mirrors, CD player, parking sensors, air conditioner, trip computer, fog lights, driver and passenger airbags and other options were offered for an additional charge.
The cars of the most expensive trim level, Comfort, had a factory-installed driver airbag, anti-lock braking system, electronic brake force distribution. Optionally one could order a height-adjustable driver seat, central lock, air conditioner, heated power mirrors, power windows.
