It is equipped with a 2-cylinder 8-valve engine of the Twinair series. This power unit, having a small volume, is characterized by high power and great dynamics due to a special system of valve timing control called Multiair, and a turbocharger. In 2011 it won “International Engine of the Year” contest.
The maximum power the engine of this version can develop is 85 hp. The torque is 145 Nm. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes about 11 seconds. Maximum speed is 173 km/h. Average fuel consumption is about 3.7 litres of petrol in extra-urban cycle, 4.1 — in combined cycle, 4.7 — in urban cycle. Maximum loading capacity is 365 kg.
500 312 trim levels
Initially, the 500 312 car was available in 3 trim levels: Pop, Lounge and Sport. Later PurO2 trim level was added to them. Moreover, a great number of limited series were produced; each of them had its own equipment list.
In the Lounge trim level, the hatchback was equipped with an air-conditioner, electric power steering with the ability to choose the Dual Drive mode, height- and reach-adjustable steering wheel with audio system control buttons, passenger seat with adjustment memory function. The side mirrors and the rear windshield were heated. The car could also boast the Uconnect multimedia system with 5-inch touch-screen, AUX-IN socket and USB port, 6 speakers, Bluetooth communication system.
