Daewoo Lanos (KLAT) saloons had the following dimensions: length – 4237 mm, width – 1678 mm and height – 1432 mm. The interior of the car had 5 seats. Volume of the luggage compartment was 322 litres. Road clearance was 160 mm.
The front independent and rear semi-independent suspensions perfectly absorbed road irregularities ensuring comfortable driving. At the same time the car was characterized by good maneuverability and steerability.
Ventilated brake discs were installed on the saloon front axle, drums – on the rear axle.
Main versions
5 versions of Daewoo Lanos (KLAT) were produced for all production time. All of them had petrol engines and front-wheel drive.
1.3 MT version was the cheapest one. It was equipped with 4-cylinder 8-valve naturally aspirated engine, maximum torque of which was 113 N⋅m. It was reached at 3400 rpm. The car accelerated to 100 km/h in 15 seconds. Top speed was 166 km/h. For 100 km travel the car consumed 11.4 litres of fuel in urban cycle, 5.9 litres – in extra-urban cycle and 7.9 litres – in combined cycle. Maximum loading capacity of the version was 565 kg.
Trim levels of Lanos (KLAT)
Lanos (KLAT) saloons were available in the following trim levels: SE, SX, Pure, Spirit, Sport and others.
Equipment was minimalistic and maximally complied with conception of an inexpensive car. For instance, the saloon of SE trim had driver airbag, tinted windows and power steering. Initially, it had no tachometer: they started to install it in 1999. The rear seats had backs folding in 60/40 ratio. More expensive trim levels had central locking, front electric windows and the bumpers painted in a body colour.
