Technical characteristics of Citroën C4 I (LC_)
Citroën C4 I (LC_) hatchbacks were 4272 mm long, 1773 mm wide and 1458 mm high. The interior accommodated up to 5 occupants. Depending on whether the rear seats were folded, the luggage compartment capacity varied from 320 to 1023 litres. Road clearance could reach 160 mm.
Both suspensions were independent: the front – with MacPherson struts, the rear – with trailing arms. Brake discs were installed on all wheels: vented in the front and solid in the rear.
The exterior design paid much attention to aerodynamics. As a result, the drag coefficient was only 0.28. Casings of the side mirrors had a special shape which reduced the wind noise inside the car and ensured acoustic comfort.
Main versions
About 20 versions of Citroën C4 I (LC_) hatchbacks were produced during the manufacturing years. They included petrol, diesel and dual-fuel ones. All of them were front-wheel-drive.
1.6 16v HDi CMP-6, a diesel version, had optimal characteristics. It had a turbocharged 4-cylinder 16-valve engine with intercooler and Common Rail fuel injection system. It outputted 110 hp and produced the max torque of 240 N⋅m. This was reached at 1750 rpm. The car accelerated to 100 km/h in 12.4 seconds. Its top speed reached 192 km/h. At the same time, fuel consumption figures were: 3.8 litres of fuel per 100 km in the extra-urban cycle, 4.5 litres – in the combined cycle and 5.8 litres – in the urban cycle. Maximum loading capacity of the version was 532 kg. 6-speed automatic transmission provided driving comfort and ensured optimal fuel consumption.
