BMW 7 series (E65, E66, E67) vehicles are five-seat luxury saloons, the best-selling generation of the model. They were manufactured from 2001 to 2008. The E65 index was used to mark cars with a short wheelbase, the E66 was used for long wheelbase ones and the E67 marked armoured vehicles. This generation of the saloons was the first to be fitted with a V12 direct injection engine and the versions with V8 engines were equipped with a variable-length intake manifold. The length of the saloon with a short wheelbase was 5,029 mm, its width was 1,902 mm and the height was 1,492 mm. The E66 version had the length of 5,169 mm. The luggage compartment capacity was 500 l. The ride height of 120 mm provided excellent stability when driving at a high speed. There were over 20 versions of BMW 7 series saloons (E65, E66, E67) made during the years of production, most of which are petrol. One of the first ones to go on sale was the 735i. This vehicle with a 272 hp V-engine accelerated to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds and could run at the maximum speed of almost 250 km/h. The fuel consumption per 100 km was 15.9 l, 8.4 l and 11.1 l in an urban area, on a highway and in a mixed cycle, respectively. The payload capacity of the version was 580 kg.

Comfort seats, heated, electronically adjustable with ventilation and massage functions were offered as an optional extra.
